I have been asked by “Your Local Food Heroes” to present a vegetable and herb workshop in Stanford on 16 November.
The workshop will be intensely practical and fun, teaching you how to start and grow your own vegetable garden covering soil preparation, composting, planning your garden, companion planting, seeds and seedlings.

Trace minerals are necessary, don’t mean maybe, when you are
growing in the extreme temps. “There is nothing better than getting your hands in the soil and watching your plants grow. By doing this, you’ll know what to change or keep the same the following year, resultinjg in a gorgepus organic garden.

Is it true that the climate where you are is mediterranean? I would so love to garden in weather like that. Even though we had a great summer in England, it came late; my tomatoes got blight and my courgettes were really half hearted. Strangely, the only things that really thrived were my little olive tree, and my lemon tree (which has lemons the size of my thumb, but hey, you can’t have everything!). Potatoes seem to be the only things that like my garden. (Apart from slugs).

Hi Elaine, Yes it is true we have a Mediterranean climate, however we also have strong drying Summer winds which dry out everything. Yes it is a great pleasure to garden here. I was in England in the late Summer and Cornwall was really lovely. Yes we also have a huge problem with snails and slugs. Thank you for the follow 🙂 I look forward to getting to know you. *Brigid
