Cactus and orchids…not the easiest for me. I do many kinds of plants….I think I have one particularly resilient orchid….but succulents, cacti, no, they do not like me….not sure if I like them either…..though I do appreciate them….

I doubt I will ever get there….one time though, I did stop on the roadside in the middle of the bush actually – there were these giant prickly pears with their fruits….so I got them…they have fine hairs as well as spikes on them….so I paid in kind for the privilege….but I was determined to taste that fruit! It was ok, I guess….but a fun thing to do.

Yes, it was. I thought, right, I am going to have some of that…right now. And in the middle of nowwhere I pulled up and did it…carefully, but not carefully enough. The long spikes are amazing; more recently, I brushed against one in someone’s back yard, and the spike went straight through my shirt and right into my upper arm like a needle….and it stayed there….separating straight away from the plant!
