As a Floridian, it is not uncommon to find a Gecko or two scampering in the house. Our cat’s find them especially fun to play with. Naturally we capture and release them immediately. The Gecko is a fascinating lizard. They camouflage themselves as a protective measure against predators. If they sustain injury to their tails i.e. amputation the tail regenerates. Most fascinating when the tail is amputated the nerves still function and the tail will continue to “spasm”.
